Three reasons people ask me round

It is the same visit each time. What changes is who it is for, and how often it is needed.

01

Earwax removal at home

The usual visit. I come to you and look in both ears, and tell you what is there and what can be done about it.

  • One person turns up at the time you booked.
  • Both ears are looked at, whether or not both are the problem.
  • You are told what is there before anything is done about it.

02

For hearing aid wearers

Aids sit in the canal, and wax builds up around them. If they have started whistling or stopped helping, wax in the ear is one of the things worth ruling out.

  • I look in the ear the aid sits in, and tell you what is there.
  • Whistling, or a sudden drop in how well they help, is the usual reason people get in touch.
  • How often it is worth repeating is something to ask me about.

03

Housebound and care homes

If getting to a high street appointment is not realistic, this is the whole reason I do it this way. Family can be there or not, as you prefer.

  • No lift to arrange, no car, no waiting room.
  • Family can be in the room or not, as suits everyone.
  • Care home staff can book on a resident’s behalf.

Not sure which one you need?

Say what has been happening when you book. I will look at both ears and tell you what I find either way.
